‘We Are Our Grandmothers – DjapWurrung Blood Memory’ Exhibition

Schoolhouse Studios presents:

We Are Our Grandmothers – DjapWurrung Blood Memory

Honouring our matriarchal laws through our love and respect for Djap Wurrung country, revealing the deep connectedness of blood memory to land, water and totems.

All hail the Wurrung of Matriarchal bloodline laws! Direct blak matriarchal bloodlines are of unbroken strength of grandmothers from the beginning of time.

Through the use of public intervention, performance, video, sculpture, paintings and photographs DjapWurrung woman aim to recenter a collective DjapWurrung narrative that is erased if not usurped by the perpetual dominant “australian” colonial fantasy and continual destruction of culturalscapes.
